after being under siege since last Thursday 19 May 2011, and after thugs being deployed on city entrances and snipers taking over rooftops; and after seeing checkpoints posing threats to the safety of our children, women and elderlies; The Siege today (26 May 2011) takes a new direction as all net and phone communications (cellular or otherwise) have been cut.
In effect, we in Harasta hold the regime responsible for abusing human rights in Harasta, and for looting homes and stealing properties. We demand communication to be brought back immediately, and that thugs are withdrawn from our pure streets, and that decency and personal properties are respected.
We call upon all legal activists, human rights groups and religious figures to intervene and stop the terror that is imposed on our peaceful people
