From the free young men of Deir Ezzor
To the soldiers of the Syrian Army
Our brothers in Army:
As you can see, we are totally disarmed and we do not have any armed men or thugs under any group, and our protests will always be peaceful demanding our rights. We are your families, partners of home land and we are proud of our country and you.
You were sworn to protect this country and its children, and we are waiting and hoping that you will keep your word.
Our peaceful revolution started 15/03/2011 demanding freedom and dignity to cover all Syrian provinces, cities, and towns.
The Syrian regime has killed us and killed many of you who have refused to murder their own people, for the number of our martyrs has exceeded 1,400 and your martyrs 200 all over our beloved Syria, while thousands of you and us were arrested and tortured in the most brutal ways.
Units of the Syrian army have been forced to participate directly in those operations, and the members who refused to carry out the orders to kill their defenseless and innocent people were executed on the field. The regime’s justifications for sending the army into those cities and areas, were that there were armed terrorist gangs and cells there, a claim which is absolutely false.
Syrian military forces besieged many Syrian cities in the last few weeks following the commands of security branches and forces, and they used all kinds of weapons to stop the protests and demonstrations, committing awful massacres. Also, the security forces used the military soldiers as an arsenal that was placed on the front line, and used as a cover for their dirty operations.
Among the provinces, cities, and towns that witnessed such operations: Damascus (Douma, Mouaddamiyeh, Harasta, Daraya), Banyas, Daraa (Jasem, Nawa, Horan, Sanamen, Enkhel, Da’el), Homs (Talbiseh, Rastan, Talkalakh, Bab Sba’, Baba Amr), Idleb (Bensh, Kafr Nabel, Jisr Al-Shoghour, Maaret Al-Nouman), Hama, and other Syrian cities and towns.
The army commands have also intendedly, almost fully isolated their members from the exterior surroundings. Part of that was halting and banning any vacation permits, especially in the hot spots, as well as carrying out all forms and kinds of media blackout, and seizing to discharge those who have finished their service. The goal of all that was to control those free officers and soldiers by not letting them know the truth of what is happening.
And finally we say to you, “If you should spread out your hand to me to kill me, I am not one to spread out my hand to you to kill you”
Long live Syria, free for all of its people
