Vision of the Local Coordination Committees (LCC) for a political solution in Syria
Today, LCC Syria proposed its vision of a political solution in Syria by proposing a transitional period to ensure a safe transfer of power in the country, according to a specific timetable.
LCC Syria believes that the use of brutal violence against the revolt of the Syrian people is leading the country to a national crisis. It is not acceptable to place the blame for this crisis on the peaceful popular revolution, nor is it acceptable to demand that protests stop, as the regime has not stopped the killing and vandalism.
LLC Syria sees that the first goal of the revolution is to change the regime in Syria, and as the first step, to end the mandate of the current president, who is now politically and legally responsible for the crimes committed by his regime against the Syrian people.
LCC calls for a national conference in order to achieve this objective. The conference focus is the transition of the country to a democratic and pluralistic state based on freedom and equality for Syrian citizens. The task of this conference is ensuring a peaceful and safe transition of the current regime, in order to avert a violent collapse. The transitional period shall not exceed six months, and during during this time, a Transitional Council composed of civilians and military personnel will lead the transition to a new Syria through a number of political and legislative reforms. The new Syria will be a republic and a civil state that belongs to all Syrians, and not to an individual, family or party. It will not be inherited from fathers to sons. All Syrians will be equal in rights and duties without discrimination.
This press release is concluded by stating that the people’s revolution is the source of political legitimacy in the country, and will continue until the achievement of the objectives of the Syrian people for liberty, equality and dignity.

للحل السياسي في سوريا
طرحت لجان التنسيق المحلية اليوم رؤيتها لأفق الحل السياسي في سوريا عبر اقتراح مرحلة انتقالية تضمن انتقال السلطة في البلاد بشكل آمن ووفق جدول زمني محدد.
واعتبرت اللجان أن مواجهة الثورة الشعبية في سوريا بالعنف القاتل أدى إلى أزمة وطنية، وأنه من غير المقبول وضع الكرة في ملعب الثورة الشعبية السلمية ومطالبتها بالتوقف بذريعة أن النظام لن يتوقف عن القتل والتخريب.
ورأت أن الهدف الأول للثورة هو تغيير النظام السياسي متمثلا كنقطة انطلاق بإنهاء ولاية الرئيس الحالي المسؤول سياسيا وقانونيا عما ارتكبه نظامه بحق سورية والشعب السوري.
وفي سبيل تحقيق هذا الهدف دعت اللجان إلى عقد مؤتمر وطني موضوعه هو التحول نحو نظام ديمقراطي تعددي قائم على الحريات العامة والمساواة بين السوريين، تكون مهمته ضمان تنح سلمي وآمن للنظام القائم بغرض تجنيب البلد مخاطر الانهيار العنيف، وتحديد فترة انتقالية من ستة أشهر يتولى خلالها الحكم مجلس انتقالي مكون من مدنيين وعسكريين مع جملة من الخطوات السياسية والتشريعية من أجل الانتقال إلى سورية الجديدة ، وهي سورية جمهورية ودولة مدنية يملكها السوريون وليس فردا أو أسرة أو حزبا ولا تورث من آباء إلى أبناء، يتساوى فيها السوريين في الحقوق والواجبات من غير تمييز.
واختتم البيان قائلا أن الثورة الشعبية هي مصدر الشرعية السياسية في البلاد وأنها مستمرة حتى تحقيق أهداف الشعب السوري في الحرية والمساواة والكرامة.
